PRENATAL Health First Family Care Center is pleased to be able to provide prenatal services through a specialized team for pregnant women. The program follows all appropriate state guidelines for these services, including medical care, social services, nutritional counseling, smoking cessation, and nursing care to women during pregnancy and the postpartum period. Prenatal clinics are coordinated by an individual on the staff of Health First specifically designated with these responsibilities. To assure ongoing and continuous coverage through doctor vacations, sick, and leave time, a group of family physicians from throughout the service area have been contracted to provide rotating coverage in the prenatal clinic. Additional specialized social services, including psychosocial assessment and social work intervention are supplied to women in the prenatal program as an integral part to the team approach to coordinated services.
